In this week's episode of The About Her Podcast, I chatted with my good friend Sarah Gump. Sarah serves as the Social Media and Marketing Strategist at Cedarville University. Sarah holds two degrees from Liberty University, including a Bachelor of Science in Marketing, and a Master of Arts in Strategic Communication.
Prior to serving at Cedarville, Sarah facilitated social media accounts for her local Chick-fil-A and proctored several sections of Speech Communication at Liberty University. Today, she regularly utilizes her knowledge and enthusiasm for social media to assist her local church in their social media and communications ministry.
I am grateful to call Sarah a friend, and continue to be sharpened and encouraged as I watch her humbly serve the Lord. I have been especially encouraged in recent years by the way she wisely navigates her social media use, and I am thrilled to share her wisdom with you today. I know you will leave this conversation with an increased understanding of the power of words and communication, as well as with practical tips for wisely navigating social media usage in your day-to-day lives.

In this week's episode of The About Her Podcast, I chatted with Abigail Houston. Abigail is the founder of Melodically Memorizing, a ministry dedicated to memorizing Scripture one melody at a time. Her favorite passage of Scripture is Psalm 34:3 which states, “Oh, magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together!”
Abigail is not only a talented vocalist, musician, and writer, she is also such a genuine follower of Christ whose desire is to see the Word of God take root in the hearts and minds of every believer. It is apparent through her disposition and cheerful spirit that she is someone who delights in God’s Word and is faithful in representing God’s revelation of Himself to others. I am so excited and honored to sit down with her to chat about Scripture memorization, and I have no doubt that you will leave encouraged after listening into our conversation as well.

In this weeks episode of The About Her Podcast, I chatted with Mary Kassian. Mary has faithfully served the Lord in a variety of roles including wife, mom, author, public speaker, and distinguished professor. Mary is coming up on her 30 year anniversary as an author, and in those thirty years, has authored several books which have been formative in my own understanding of God’s Word, biblical womanhood, identity, and more. A few of my favorite books authored by Mary include Girls Gone Wise, The Feminist Mistake, and True Woman 101 and 201. Mary’s knowledge of theology and history always leaves me impressed, and I am so excited to have the opportunity to share that wisdom with you today as we discussed a topic familiar to us all, Feminism. As Mary will state later in the episode, Feminism is an ideology that is in the air we breathe in our current culture. I greatly appreciate Mary’s balanced approach in this episode as she dissects feminism as an ideology, and compares its underlying beliefs to the Scriptures. I have considered Mary a mentor from a distance for many years, and it was an honor to chat with her up close in this very special podcast interview.

In this week's episode of The About Her Podcast, I chatted with Jordan Brown. Jordan is the lead pastor of Hebron Church of Hope in Hebron, Connecticut. A church that first gathered in October of 1716.
Jordan is a graduate of Cedarville University located in Cedarville, Ohio. It was during his time at Cedarville that my husband and I met Jordan, and his now wife, Rachel. Jordan and his wife served in the youth ministry at our local church, and both Jordan and Rachel quickly stepped in to mentor young High School Caleb and Abigail. After graduating from Cedarville, Jordan returned to Connecticut to serve in pastoral ministry and has since graduated with his MTS in Church Revitalization from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Jordan and Rachel were married in 2014 and together they have one daughter, Maeve Elisabeth.
Jordan’s favorite passage of Scripture is Hebrews 4:14-16. This passage states, "Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need."
As Jordan and I chat, you will quickly recognize just how much he desires to faithfully communicate the message of the Bible, to see dying churches come to life in the Gospel, and to see more and more people come to know Jesus Christ. I am grateful to have the opportunity to share Jordan’s love for the Gospel, the Word of God, Theology and Church History with you today. Now, let’s chat with Pastor Jordan Brown about the importance of Church history in the lives of everyday women.

On this week's episode of The About Her Podcast, I will be wrapping up my conversation with Courtney Moore. Courtney is the founder and president of Women & Work, an organization that exists to see women confidently step into their God-given calling and to view their work as meaningful to the kingdom of God. The mission of Women & Work is to inspire women like you and I through conversation and biblical content to honor God, to image Him to the world through our work, and to leverage our potential for God’s glory.
If you missed the first half of my conversation with Courtney, I highly recommend heading back over to your favorite podcast platform to find, “EP. 02 Women and a Theology of Work, Part One.” In this episode Courtney discussed a theology of work and laid a very helpful foundation for our episode today. Today, rather than focus on a theology of work, we will consider a few practical questions about women and work.
In addition to serving as the President of Women & Work, Courtney is also a cohost of the Women & Work podcast. She holds a B.A. in Religious Studies from the University of Mobile and an M.A. in Biblical Counseling from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. A key passage of Scripture that Courtney has been meditating upon lately is Hebrews 4:15-16. This passage states, “For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”
Courtney is passionate about seeing Jesus Christ honored by women as they steward their gifts and leverage their unique potential for His glory. She has been married to her husband, Brent, for 15 years. They have 3 great kids and live in El Paso, TX where Brent pastors LIFEchurch. I am so excited to share the rest of our conversation with you today. Without further ado, Let’s jump into practical considerations about women and work with Courtney Moore.

The mission of Women & Work is to inspire women like you and I through conversation and biblical content to honor God, to image Him to the world through our work, and to leverage our potential for God’s glory.
I had the privilege of meeting Courtney earlier this Summer and to attend an event hosted by Women & Work at the annual Southern Baptist Convention meeting in June. I left this event with a renewed understanding of my own work within the Kingdom of God, and continue to be personally inspired by Women & Work through their blog, podcast, and social media pages.
In addition to serving as the President of Women & Work, Courtney is also a cohost of the Women & Work podcast. She holds a B.A. in Religious Studies from the University of Mobile and an M.A. in Biblical Counseling from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Her favorite passage of Scripture is Romans 11:36 which states, “For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be glory forever. Amen.”

Erin is dedicated to helping women of all ages learn the truth of God’s Word. In addition to serving at Cedarville University, Erin also volunteers in the women’s ministry of her local church, and as you will quickly learn in this episode, she truly loves the local church. Erin’s favorite scripture is Psalm 84:11 which states, “For the Lord is a sun and shield; the Lord bestows favor and honor. No good thing does he withhold from those who walk uprightly.”
Erin received a Master’s of Divinity degree in Women’s Studies with Biblical Languages from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. She also completed a Doctorate of Education at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. All this to say, Erin is a wise, wise woman, and a faithful steward of God’s Word.
